Gary Speed’s Death Through Suicide

Tuesday, January 24th, 2012

One of the top leading causes of death in the world is suicide, health authorities say. Among countries, it belongs to the upper 20 causes of death for all ages. The number of people who kill themselves every year has reached a million, according to World Health Organization (WHO). At age of 42, Gary Speed, manager of the Wales national team, has called it quits. He was famous for being a great midfielder. He was someone who had it good and was not thought to be depressed, he may not even have filed a Zoloft lawsuit.

Hearing the news that Speed killed himself made a lot of people sigh in disbelief. Nobody has expected him to take his own life. He left two teenage sons and his wife when he died. Fans were left asking why. The life of Speed has left its mark on so many people. Hayden Evans, a talent agent and close friend of the family, said that Speed has never had any problems with depression. At around 7:00 in the morning, the wife of Speed, Louise, found her husband hanging in their garage. The reason behind the hanging of Speed was not shared to the public. The last show on which he was last seen in was in BBC1 Football Focus, which was taped just hours before he killed himself. Dan Walker, a presenter on BBC1, has said that he was in his “bubbly” mood when he was at the studio.

The untimely death of Gary Speed has caused an outpouring of tribute for the late footballer. Mourning fans brought tributes outside Speed’s house and also the places where he used to play. The tributes that they brought were jerseys, scarves, flowers and photographs that they had of the late footballer. His death was asked to be spared from sensational press coverage.
