FIFA and Adidas presented the Official Match Ball for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa that call the adidas “JABULANI”™, which has been developed in partnership with academics at Loughborough University.
The “JABULANI”, features a South African inspired design and radically new technology which means “to celebrate” in isiZulu. The new match ball, soon will be available in retail outlets which was unveiled in Cape Town.
The Jabaluni has four triangular architecture elements on a white background. Eleven different colours are used, representing the eleven official languages of South Africa, the eleven players on a football team, and the eleven South African communities.
Aero grooves create the clearly visible profile on the ball’s surface. The Grip’n’Groove profile circles round the whole ball in an optimal aerodynamic way. The integrated grooves provide unmatched flight characteristics, making this the most stable and most accurate adidas ball ever. The ground-breaking performance features of the adidas “JABULANI” have been confirmed in comprehensive comparison tests and checks in the wind tunnel at Loughborough University and the adidas football laboratory in Scheinfeld, Germany.
The Jabulani is going to be every striker’s greatest Christmas gift and every goalkeeper’s nightmare. To be honest, I can’t wait to see Cristiano Ronaldo strike this ball, Jabulani Soccer Ball because when he does it could be spectacular! I spent some time taking shots and it absolutely pings. The World Cup 2010 Ball is a very light ball and when you strike it clean it moves fast. In a sense, it reminds me of a plastic ball and it sounds plastic when you bounce it.
Striking it is a altered story, as the brawl feels like a covering ball, alone it seems to beset your bottom back you bang it. When you control the ball off a long pass, you can feel the energy of the ball on your foot. Even though it is super light, there is a lot of power hidden inside!
One of customer review is Fernando Robledo. Here is what he said about Adidas Jabulani “Best Soccerball ever. Now I know why soccer players kick hard and move fast. It’s all about the Ball.”
